MARCH 17: Jim Van Wert, will do a presentation on Global Positioning Systems.Keith Horst will do the small rock presentation. APRIL 21: Club Spring Fling. Please bring a cold food dish. Great time to get acquainted with other club members. Ask questions. Bring a rock to be identified. Please bring your own drinks and eating utensils. MAY 19: Keith Horst will talk about unusual Gem stones and how to use them. Small rock presentation: TBA JUNE 16: A newer member Sandra Hurlbut will be sharing her knowledge of how she uses crystals and stones in her holistic healing practice. Small rock presentation: TBA JULY 21: Alex Horst will talk on metal detectors and their uses. Small rock presentation: TBA AUGUST 18: John Macarthur will show cutting and polishing laps. Their grits and what the stone looks like after using that grit. Small rock presentation: TBA SEPTEMBER 15: John Munday will do a demonstration on wire wrapping. Small rock presentation: TBA OCTOBER 20: CLUB PROJECT; Will show film on a field trip to Burro Creek and finding a rock. Then will show the slabbing, cutting, polishing and mounting of the stone. Small rock presentation: TBA NOVEMBER 17: CLUB PROJECT; Continued Small rock presentation: TBA DECEMBER 8: Christmas Pot Luck. This is the big one. Bring hot food, table service and drinks and a big appetite. Club project will be part of the raffle. |
