Junior Rock Hounds

** Attention **

The Junior Rock Hounds group has been suspended since we do not enough participants.  We will revisit this group’s needs as membership grows.

Welcome to the Prescott Gem and Mineral Future Rock hounds of America program, affectionately called the “Junior Rock Hounds.” The goals of the junior rock hound program are to educate the area youth about safe rock hounding, mineral/fossil collection and identification, the lapidary arts and to foster the individual talents to promote responsibility, accountability and leadership roles in their community and within the Prescott Gem and Mineral Club.

With a family membership of PGMC, any children are automatically considered a Junior Rock Hound member if they wish to participate. There is no extra fees to join. Junior meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month from  5pm to 7pm. For more information contact Colleen Denton at cwalthew1@msn.com or call 928-308-3986.

We would like to encourage our Junior families to participate in our normal monthly field trips with Mark Wendon, our VP of Field Trips. Though the Junior members may on occasion have an extra separate outing from time to time, most of our club field trips are absolutely kid friendly. Any field trip/outing will require a parent or guardian to attend.  A liability release form needs to be on file for all events.  Please go to the To Join Our Club page to print it out and submit it at a general meeting or to the Junior Rock Hound leader.
